CONNECTION & COMMUNITY

The inquest and investigation processes following a state related death can be isolating and complex to navigate. We’ve created a number of ways for you to connect and build solidarity with other bereaved families and get involved in our wider work at INQUEST to campaign for change.

Familes@INQUEST

Our dedicated Facebook group for families is a space for you to connect and build solidarity with other families going through similar processes, access related resources and stay informed about our work.

Connection Cafes

Our Connection Cafes are a safe, non-judgemental space for you and other bereaved families to come together, share experiences and chat and focus on how you are feeling. Members of the Family Reference Group, who are all families with experience of the inquest process and working with INQUEST, will be there to welcome you.

These drop-in sessions take place twice a month online over Zoom.

·       Morning (10.30am-12pm) – second Wednesday of every month

·       Evening (6.30pm-8pm) – fourth Wednesday of every month

Consultation Cafes

Many families tell us that they don't want other families to have to go through what they went through. Our consultation cafes offer a space to meet with the INQUEST policy team to keep you up to date on our work, and to hear from you about how we should shape our policy and campaigning priorities.

By getting involved in our policy and media work, you can drive the changes you want to see to make sure vital lessons are learnt and future deaths prevented.

Commemoration projects

Over the last year, we've co-created a number of commemoration projects with families to remember your loved ones and shine a light onto state violence, death, grief and resistance.

Whilst these projects are closed for now, we're working on opening them up again for more families and touring them to communities across the UK.

A collaborative photography exhibition of family resistance that refuses to be silenced, misrepresented or forgotten.
