The National Mikey Powell Memorial Family Fund is the first permanent national resource of its kind for those affected by deaths of people in custody across the UK.

The fund is making grants available to provide families and their campaign groups financial support for a variety of activities or needs, including:

  • to provide families practical assistance - such as contributions towards funeral costs, counselling or therapy services and support towards essential household provisions and bills.
  • to further the work of their campaigns - by covering costs for promotional materials or other resources, contributing to costs of travelling to events, inquests or conferences.
  • or to assist them in engaging in other local, regional or national campaigns, events and initiatives.
